MARTIN
JACKSON
Vocals & Guitar Martin is just a star. His voice has long been recognised locally as one just waiting to be known further afield. This is a man for whom singing is as natural as breathing. He uses improvisations to bring words and melody to bear on the music that the band creates. He writes evocatively about the things that move him. Inspired at an early age by the mentorship of The Cure's Porl Thompson, Jackson has also developed a distinctive and accomplished style of guitar playing that forms a major part of Ethatone's sound. |

RICHARD
BLACKBOROW
Keyboards & Vocals A founder member and frontman of John Peel favourites BOB, Blackborow has now switched from guitar to keyboards and uses the harmony singing for which BOB were noted to distinctive effect in combination with Jackson's thrilling tenor. He alternates between classic piano, electric piano and organ sounds, with outbursts of synth lead and backgrounds of textural ambience. Blackborow, a Londoner, moved to the St. Just area of Cornwall in 2003. |

SAM
HILL
Drums & Percussion Charismatic funky drummer Sam Hill has filled the drum stool for a succession of fine local party bands, including the marvellously monikered Sexual Chocolate and the downright dirty Mr. Pink Seduced by the unfamiliar music being produced by fellow St Just musicians Jackson and Payne, Hill climbed aboard the Ethatone Express, and has contributed a dynamic blend of rock and funk drumming that helps to set the band apart from many of those around them. |
